Insulation grants help reduce heating bills and improve home comfort. They are commonly available through ECO4 and local authority Warm Homes routes. The Great British Insulation Scheme closed to new applications on 31 March 2026.
Topping up loft insulation to current standards (around 270mm) is one of the most cost-effective improvements. Many low-income households can have it fitted for free under ECO4 or Warm Homes routes.
